Beyond limits provides a place of peace for anyone living in poverty or distress!
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Susan is a visionary and entrepreneur, setting up Beyond Limits back in 2015. With a demonstrable track record for leading and inspiring others, she has helped thousands of disadvantaged people to believe in themselves, to change their lives and to better their circumstances.
Susan continues to be an inspiration for all those involved in the charity.
Her drive and enthusiasm is infectious, which is why Beyond Limits continues to evolve and grow to provide it’s essential services to those who need it most. Susan is more aware than most that she wouldn’t be in the position she’s in without the constant backing of her team.
Having suffered numerous strokes over the years, their loyalty and support has bound this successful organisation together and kept their services going no matter what.
Susan’s personal health challenges have also given her a unique understanding, empathy and drive to help others. Susan has been a successful public speaker and trainer. Her long career of hard work and selflessness to others was recognised when Susan was awarded the prestigious Durham County Council Chairman’s Medal.
MEET OUR TRUSTEES
Malcolm has been involved with Beyond Limits since 2015. He enjoyed a successful 50-year career as a self-employed garden designer before retiring and dedicating his time to helping the disadvantaged.
His knowledge of landscaping and gardens has been an essential asset to the charity, given the importance of the Farm grounds for our regular visits from service users.
Linzi is an experienced coach who has worked with disadvantaged families and individuals for 6 years.
She also has expertise in money management, employment skills and dietary advice.
Linzi’s responsibilities as a trustee mean she volunteers her time, working with the charity on a daily basis, whilst providing ongoing support to our CEO.
Ernie joined the Board in August 2016. An expert in organising conferences, fundraising events and running community groups, Ernie’s skills are of paramount importance to the work we do.
With 30 years experience as a grief and loss counsellor Ernie currently works with vulnerable people and those with mental health challenges.
Karen’s family moved back to the UK in 2017 after serving over twenty years on the mission field in Mombasa, Kenya. Karen was affiliated with the Assemblies of God church but also worked with Youth with a Mission, a Christian, non-denominational, voluntary organisation.
Karen now supports her husband's work as a Pastor in a local church, where she helps him in various roles. Karen is also a qualified teacher and supports Beyond Limits with her administration and secretarial skills.
Louise first caught the bug for the charity sector during her tenure in the PR department with Heathrow Airport, where she had the pleasure of working with many charities on their fundraising events and advertising campaigns.
Since then, Louise has also worked for a plethora of charities including the Christian Alliance Housing and Elim Housing, Mind, British Heart Foundation (BHF) and The British Red Cross as a manager.
Her work spanned from handling budgets, seeking out grants to managing volunteers. She is currently a volunteer for Barnados in Barnard Castle and we are fortunate to have her supporting our fundraising events and advertising campaigns.
Ian lives in Darlington with his wife. A family man, he has 4 children and 3 grandchildren. He currently leads the local church and has been a Pastor for 17 years.
Prior to his clerical work, Ian was employed by a local authority where his role developed from being Welfare Rights Officer to working within Social Services with children in and leaving care.
Ian is also qualified in the construction industry. From time as structural Steel Draughtsman to new works and maintenance in NHS hospitals in South Cleveland. Ian has also set up two businesses over his career.
It is this entrepreneurial skill that Ian brings to Beyond Limits as we continue to grow.
